Stop Loss or Take Profit Not Copying

This guide is for DaneTrades Cloud Copier. It does not cover Local Copier install, EA, or device-slot workflows.

DaneTrades Cloud — web-managed copying for supported trading platforms. Telegram is a signal source only.

Use Trade activity to confirm whether the receiver trade opened without the expected protection or whether a later modify action failed.

Check the copier controls

Open the affected copier and confirm:

  • Copy SL is enabled;
  • Copy TP is enabled;
  • the copier is active;
  • the source event actually contained the expected level;
  • filters or safe-mode behaviour did not block the relevant action.

Check the price direction

For a normal position:

  • a buy stop loss should be below price;
  • a buy take profit should be above price;
  • a sell stop loss should be above price;
  • a sell take profit should be below price.

A reversed copier direction can also change which side of price is valid on the receiver.

Check broker stop rules

Receivers can reject SL or TP levels because:

  • the level is too close to current price;
  • the market moved before the modify reached the broker;
  • the symbol uses different precision;
  • the instrument has a minimum stop distance;
  • the market is closed or has no current price;
  • the account or order type does not permit that modification.

Expand the Trade activity item and look for Rejected by broker or Failed to send.

Manage live risk first

When a receiver position is open without the intended protection, check and manage that position directly on the broker platform before continuing troubleshooting. Do not assume DaneTrades will retry or restore a rejected protection level automatically.

Test entry and modification separately

  1. Place one tiny source trade with conservative SL and TP levels.
  2. Confirm the receiver entry copied.
  3. Modify only the SL.
  4. Check Trade activity.
  5. Modify only the TP.
  6. Check Trade activity again.

This separates entry-copying problems from modify-action problems.

Risk-percent sizing dependency

Risk-percent sizing needs a usable stop loss at open time. If the source open has no valid stop loss, the risk-based receiver open should be blocked rather than sized from an invented distance.

Telegram sources

For Telegram, use Trade activity to confirm the customer-safe parsed action and levels from the provider message. Ambiguous pip counts, commentary or an unsupported provider format may not produce usable price levels.

Do not assume a message was parsed correctly simply because it appeared in the Telegram channel.

When to continue to support

Continue to support when the copier controls are enabled, the source level is valid, and the broker reason does not explain the missing or failed update.

Provide the Trade activity reference ID, symbol, position direction, expected level and actual receiver result.
