Troubleshooting

Symbol Not Found or the Wrong Symbol Was Used

This guide is for DaneTrades Cloud Copier. It does not cover Local Copier install, EA, or device-slot workflows.

DaneTrades Cloud — web-managed copying for supported trading platforms. Telegram is a signal source only.

Different brokers and platforms can use different names for the same market. DaneTrades Cloud uses the copier's committed symbol map to translate the source symbol into the receiver symbol.

Common signs

  • Trade activity shows Not copied: missing symbol map.
  • The receiver platform says the symbol is unavailable or unknown.
  • The copied trade reaches a similar but unintended instrument.
  • One symbol works while another fails on the same copier.

Find the exact symbols

  1. Open the affected event in Trade activity and note the source symbol.
  2. Open the receiver platform's symbol list.
  3. Confirm the exact receiver instrument, including any prefix, suffix or contract marker.
  4. Open the copier's Symbol Mapping section.
  5. Map the source symbol to the exact receiver symbol and save.
  6. Retest only that symbol with a tiny trade.

Common naming differences can look like:

  • GOLD to XAUUSD;
  • US30 to DJ30;
  • NAS100 to USTEC;
  • EURUSD to EURUSDm.

These examples are not universal mappings. Always verify the receiver instrument.

Check the instrument, not only the name

Two symbols with similar names can have different:

  • contract sizes;
  • currencies;
  • expiry behaviour;
  • minimum volumes;
  • trading hours;
  • price precision.

Do not map symbols solely because their names look similar.

If symbols are still loading

A newly connected account may show Connecting while DaneTrades downloads its symbol catalogue. Wait until the account is fully ready before creating or repairing a symbol map.

If symbol loading fails or remains unavailable, resolve the trading-account connection before changing the copier.

Telegram sources

Telegram has no broker symbol catalogue. The signal text is normalised first, then the copier symbol map translates the result to the receiver symbol.

Use provider aliases only when the provider's wording needs normalisation before the normal copier mapping can apply.

When to continue to support

Continue to support when:

  • the exact receiver symbol exists;
  • the mapping is saved;
  • the receiver account is ready;
  • and a new test still reports a missing map or uses the wrong instrument.

Provide the Trade activity reference ID and both exact symbol names.
