Wrong Trade Size or Order Rejected

This guide is for DaneTrades Cloud Copier. It does not cover Local Copier install, EA, or device-slot workflows.

DaneTrades Cloud — web-managed copying for supported trading platforms. Telegram is a signal source only.

A receiver can use different lot rules, leverage, contract sizes and margin requirements from the source account. Start with the exact Trade activity outcome rather than assuming the sizing calculation is wrong.

Common signs

  • the receiver size is larger or smaller than expected;
  • Trade activity shows Not copied: risk/sizing;
  • the broker rejects the action as invalid volume;
  • the broker reports insufficient margin or not enough funds;
  • one symbol works while another fails.

Check the sizing mode

Open the affected copier and confirm the selected mode:

  • Fixed lots: always requests the configured receiver size, subject to receiver limits.
  • Lot multiplier: multiplies the source volume by the configured value.
  • Balance multiplier: scales using the available source and receiver balance information.
  • Risk percent: sizes from receiver risk and a usable stop-loss distance.

Use the mode shown in the current copier configuration. Do not rely on an older Local Copier screenshot or guide.

Use a simple baseline test

  1. Change only the sizing mode for the test.
  2. Use a very small fixed lot that the receiver supports.
  3. Test one liquid, mapped symbol.
  4. Open the new Trade activity item.
  5. Confirm the requested and resulting size.

If a small fixed lot works, move back to the intended mode and check its inputs.

Receiver rules to check

The receiver may enforce:

  • minimum volume;
  • maximum volume;
  • volume step;
  • symbol-specific contract size;
  • symbol-specific margin;
  • lower leverage than the source account;
  • restrictions on the account or instrument.

A valid size on the source is not automatically valid on the receiver.

Risk-percent sizing

Risk-percent sizing requires a usable stop loss.

If the source open has no valid stop loss, DaneTrades should block the risk-based open rather than invent a risk distance. Add a valid source stop loss or use a different sizing mode for that workflow.

Also confirm that the receiver symbol has the expected contract specification. The same price distance can represent different monetary risk on different instruments.

Broker rejection versus DaneTrades block

  • Not copied: risk/sizing means DaneTrades did not send an unsafe or invalidly sized action.
  • Rejected by broker means an action reached the receiver platform and the platform refused it.

Expand the Trade activity item and follow the specific reason.

When to continue to support

Continue to support when the receiver rules, margin, symbol and sizing inputs all look correct but the calculated result remains unexplained.

Provide:

  • Trade activity reference ID;
  • sizing mode and configured value;
  • source volume;
  • expected receiver volume;
  • actual receiver result;
  • exact broker rejection wording, when present.
