Trade Copier Settings

Start here before you edit connection settings

Most setup mistakes happen because users change too many things at once. The safest order is to create the connection, choose a simple sizing mode, confirm the link works, then add filters or symbol mapping only where they are actually needed.

Recommended order

  1. Create the connection first. Pick the right master and receiver path in Copiers.
  2. Start with conservative sizing. A simple lot multiplier or balance multiplier is easier to verify than risk-based logic.
  3. Enable the link and test it. Use one small example trade and verify the result in Logs.
  4. Add filters only when they solve a real need. Filters can intentionally block trades, so they should not be the first thing you add.
  5. Use symbol mapping when names differ. If the source and receiver use different symbol names, mapping becomes essential.
  6. Use safe mode and disable deliberately. They solve different problems and should not be treated as the same control.

Why settings should be layered in slowly

The current connection editor includes several powerful sections: Risk & Sizing, General Settings, Filters, Scheduler, and Economic News Filters. Each one can change copying behavior. If you turn on too many rules before the first test, it becomes harder to tell what actually caused the result.
