Symbol mapping and common fixes

If the source and receiver use different symbol names, copying can fail even when the connection itself is healthy. Symbol Mapping translates the master symbol to the exact receiver symbol the platform expects.

Quick answer

  1. Open the affected connection in Copiers.
  2. Open Symbol Mapping.
  3. Map the master symbol to the correct receiver symbol.
  4. Save and retest that symbol.

Why symbol mapping exists

Different brokers and platforms often use different labels for the same instrument. One side might say GOLD while the other expects XAUUSD. Some brokers also add suffixes or prefixes.

Common examples

  • GOLD to XAUUSD
  • US30 to DJ30
  • NAS100 to USTEC
  • EURUSD to EURUSDm or a suffixed broker variant

Best fix workflow

  1. Identify the master symbol from Logs or the signal text.
  2. Confirm the exact receiver symbol in the broker or platform symbol list.
  3. Map master to receiver and save.
  4. Retest only that symbol first.

If it still fails

Check Logs again and compare the exact symbol names. If the issue still persists, move to Get Help or the symbol troubleshooting guide.
